Playboy Girls: Glamour in 2011

Posted by on Oct 18, 2011 in Photography | 0 comments

Furthering my photographic journey into glamour photography. I have picked up more skills to become a better glamour photographer. Here you can see my improvements from the previous ones that I have taken so far.

I will say one thing though, its a lot of tough work! It’s not as glamorous as most would think, especially now a days when there are more photographers in the market. The perception of fashion and glamour photography is that you get to take pictures of many attractive women and get to travel the world while getting paid the big bucks. The reality is that its very competitive and obviously because the type of job is highly desired, so there are more painstaking and backbreaking moments. The pay during the start of any photography career is little to none, and you would have to do your best to manage your bankroll. The perception is always looking better than the reality, but once reality kicks in it is not very easy at all.

A list of things I consider the job challenging.

1. Creativity – You gotta have it, it takes a lot of mental energy to come up with poses on the fly.
2. Commission Based – It’s sales, you don’t sell you don’t eat.
3. Clients – Some are good and some are bad, but if you have to deal with the bad picky ones, god have mercy!
4. Time  - You will need to have a workflow plan and to plan all shoots and events accordingly or you could find yourself losing jobs due to unreliability due to time constraints.
5. Energy – We are not machines, it takes a lot of energy and muscle power (heavy camera) to be able to  hold the camera for prolong hours through the day, plus running around, setting up lighting (if you don’t have assistance’s) and making sure everything works just right.

I only covered the gist of it, there is probably tons more of things to consider.

After all consideration though, if you are up to the challenge, I would say go for it! You never know until you try.

If you could make a bit of money doing photography as a career and love it, I say that is awesome! You are one of the few that are able to turn glamour photography or any type of photography into a career and love doing it. There is a saying that goes, if you love what you are doing for your career/job, you never have to work a day in your life. :)

Project Mira RPG

Posted by on Oct 18, 2011 in Art | 0 comments

So I was working on quick sample of what a Project Mira RPG game would look like. Gathering Scripts from the local community and using a RPG Game engine, I was able to spend some time taking the current artwork I have and expressing Project Mira into a video game.

As you watch the video, the names of the characters are displayed next to their HP and MP bar. Yes those are their official names. Obviously the main character of the party is myself, but that picture is just a placeholder to which best represent what myself would look like. I am excited because I will be starring in my own Comic story! The comic story is based on my early years in high school and all the madness has inspired me to create this comic that is based upon my world, and the life through my eyes. A mix of imagination and pop culture influence, I hope to create something for the world to see.

More to come!

To Steve Jobs: A letter from a fan.

Posted by on Oct 6, 2011 in Home | 0 comments

Hello Steve,

How are you? You are probably in Digital Heaven now as you read this. I remember the first Macintosh that I used, although I don’t quite remember too well which model I used, I do believe it was the Apple II; with its large 5.2” floppy disk drive, I would enjoy loading software using this giant floppy which would come up on the black and green monitor; the game of air hockey! I then wondered who was the genius that created this awesome piece of technology?!

I was only 8 years old at the time, and I wanted to find out who was behind all of the apple machines they had at school. Unfortunately there was no Wikipedia, YouTube, and the internet. Not till years later when the Internet became more mainstream, I then found out about a man named Steve Jobs, he was the creator of the Apple machines I see before me. I also learned that you and Bill Gates had many crazy times together back in the old days before the majority of us younger generation kids used your products. We knew that you wanted to give computers for normal people and not just business, you gave a purpose to personal computing: games, media and music!

Seeing the 1984 commercial finally on YouTube I told myself again, really made me think about the computer industry not taking the time to think outside of the box, allowing themselves to be trapped in a forever living dead state of repetitive copy session to whatever they think would make them profit.

Now a days, some people use your products vainly merely as a status symbol and some people actually use your products to save time in music and design. They made better use of your software because it was intuitive and totally user friendly. You can’t please them all, but you surely did one heck of a job attracting a large amount of fellow fans. I am a fan of Apple and a user of Microsoft Windows.

There are quite a few Microsoft and Linux Naysayers of course, but I just think they are just merely cheap/frugal and cannot understand what is behind the price point. Just like a Dyson vacuum, you make your products with quality (design, efficiency and personal user friendliness), and not quantity (Computer Specs)

I do know when phones OS like Android are released, all they are focusing on is how to be better than Apple products and not focusing on original ideas.

Some people will discuss with me that you make a great leader, but I do think that there was more to your leadership and that was your creative thinking and vision. Your creative thinking and vision change the way the world looks at things. You did great as other great innovators have done. Those other great innovators are Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, Nintendo and now you of Apple.

In today’s world there are so many conventional thinkers and not enough innovators, and after you passed on to the next dimension, the world has 1 less innovative thinker. I admire your courage and strength to take on the world. Unfortunately now that you are gone, I don’t think anyone could replace your unique thinking, your outlook on life and your products. Your vision will live on the way Walt Disney’s did. I thank you for all that you have given. Rest in peace.

Project Mira: Erylina Sisters

Posted by on Sep 1, 2011 in Art | 0 comments

Thanks again to Collateral Damage Studios as they have helped me flesh out the eldest sister of the Erylina sisters. I have not talked much about Project Mira before because it was slow to release or there was not enough updates, but I believe it is time to shine some more light on some of the characters that you have seen so far on this website and on Facebook. Project Mira is a surrealistic version of my life and my imagination (of course not all is true but you be the judge), the best part is no one can copy that because it comes from within.

Alas this is why the Erylina sisters were born. I sat down with a friend (Maverick, yes that is his real name) and started to come up with ideas for the characters, and their personalities and traits, likes and dislikes. We came up with a bunch of sketches and then some. You could actually see some of that here in the inspiration video.

The character on the left of the picture is the eldest sister that has not been shown yet anywhere else, she is the oldest and the most predominant of the 3 sisters.

Being the oldest has a lot of responsibilities. Generally being in any normal household, the oldest child always will have to make sure the younger ones are staying out of trouble and at the same time should be supporting and protecting his/her younger siblings. Many culture differences of course do not always follow this theme of responsibility. A lot of Japanese manga and anime strongly has this as a theme in their works. A perfect example is Full Metal Alchemist, which shows that the eldest brother Edward, protecting his little brother till the very end. For those that has not watch the series yet, I recommend that you should, as it is a touching story.

Being the eldest of course isn’t always bad, you always have the advantage to experience everything head on first, and it also gives you the wisdom first hand as well. Going with what it is like being the eldest of siblings, I have encompassed that into the character and hence the eldest was created out of the 3 Erylina Sisters.

As time goes by I will formally introduce the characters either on this website or on the Project Mira website. Stay tuned!

Online Comic Update

Posted by on Aug 31, 2011 in Art | 0 comments

I really love how my characters are starting to come to life. The stories that I have created around my characters reveals thier lives, influences and impacts in the story for Project Mira. It is unfortanatly as of late, I have been fairly busy with work and other things; like personal life responsibilities. Time is truly a precious resource to have, but alas with my time I was not able to keep up with the writing and character creation for the comic as i had hoped. But for the most part, I loved the results that I am getting so far from Collateral Damage Studios

The folks at CDS have been helpful and friendly to help me bring my sketches and ideas in color and in the flesh. I do hope that perhaps one day this idea of mine will grow enough to where I can have an Anime created based on the characters that I have created. I have many good ideas for a storyline and I hope to launch it along with all my other planned projects for this year and the next.

Motivational Video for a friend.

Posted by on Aug 29, 2011 in Home | 0 comments

One of my good friends that had worked on a comic project with me seems to be down in the dumps. I have created a video to cheer him up. This idea came in as a light bulb idea to me as I was listening to some music. We’ve always had inside jokes about making everything epic. So going along with that, I made the inspiration video epic to lift his spirits.

Of course this video also show our progress throughout the years when we worked on Project Mira for fun, but have decided to bring it to the next level.

Sometimes, everyone needs a motivation or a push in the right direction. Generally I believe music and motivational words can inspire someone to do something more.

In life we all come across obstacles, the obstacles can be simple things such as self laziness to bigger problems like money and finance. People are generally problem solvers, and we have been doing it since the day we were born. As a baby, you were motivated on how to solve your hunger problem, and you would do so by crying, so as a result, you will get fed. Simple logic in problem solving applies to anything you do. Any problem can be solved in due time, and if you cannot solve a problem or simply give up because your patience has worn out, you can at least say to yourself that you had done your best and move on.

Japan’s Recovery

Posted by on Mar 23, 2011 in Home | 0 comments

Japan is a country that is really unique, the pinnacle of technology to the world. They have advance robots, efficient cars and a very strong entertainment industry.

I have been a long time fan of the country’s culture and way of life. The older generation Asian’s in other countries does not seem to like japan much though, and same with the older generation Caucasians as well. It does not seem fair to the younger generation who loves the essence of what Japan has to offer.

I have seen so much racism comments on facebook and twitter saying this and that about karma, pearl harbor, etc etc.. Seriously? Yes of course, we know what Japan has done in the past, and the pain they have caused. But so much has changed over the years, people grow up, new generations come into the world and all they want to do is make friends.

At some point in time, everyone has done some horrible things in their life. It is up to us the human race to forgive and have compassion to help each other. Japan as a country are very strong, united, diligent and well mannered more then most would think.

When there were hurricanes and earthquakes here in the United States, there would be news reports of looting and stealing in the stores. Looking at Japan they have a good sense of moral character and it shows strongly during this unfortunate disaster. No one steals and loots any stores, in fact they do the best they can to help each other and even risk some of their own lives to save one another.

They are good people, people with friends and family, people who just wants to move on and continue with their lives. Thanks to alot of generous people, they have donated over several million dollars to help japan.

I know you get sick of hearing this but, if you have not donated already you can do so in the link below and help out your fellow human.

Good Luck Japan! Nihon Ganbatte Kudasai! 日本頑張って 下さい!
